Raymond Pierce VIEW PROFILE

Raymond Pierce, 58, of Williston passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 16, 2013, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston.

His funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at New Hope Wesleyan Church.

The Rev. Chris Swarthout will officiate. Interment in Hillside Memory Garden Cemetery will follow the funeral service.

 Friends may call at Everson Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and for the hour preceding the service at the church on Friday.

Raymond Eugene Pierce was born in Williston on Feb. 15, 1955, to Preston and Violet (Schmidt) Pierce. He was raised and educated in Williston.

On July 16, 1978, Ray was united in marriage to Judy Johnson.

To this union two daughters, Amanda and Angela were born. On March 19, 1988, Ray was united in marriage to Judy Bedor in Watford City.  

The couple lived in Watford City where Ray worked at Hardware Hank, they later moved to Sidney, Mont. for a short time before establishing their home in Williston in 1993.   

Ray was a member of Williston’s New Hope Wesleyan Church.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially pheasant hunting, motorcycle riding and snowmobiling. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Christian Motor Cycle Association.

Surviving Ray are his wife, Judy of Williston; his two daughters, Amanda and Angela Pierce, both of Bismarck; two granddaughters, Jordyn and Mackensie; brothers, Jim Pierce of Kalispell, Mont., and Larry (Carol) Pierce of Sidney, Mont.; stepchildren, Julene (Ken) Baker of Spokane, Wash., Misty (Tom) Wragge of Ellensburg, Wash., Larry (Lisa) Martin of Bismarck and Krystal (Dave) Atkinson of Poplar, Mont.; 10 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ray in death were his parents, Preston and Violet Pierce, and one brother, Bill Pierce.

The Everson Funeral Home of Williston cared for the family.
