Craig G Aamoth VIEW PROFILE

Craig was born November 26, 1954 at Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane WA to Earl and Donna (Courneya) Aamoth.

The family moved to Williston in December 1955. Craig attended school in Williston graduating from WHS in 1973. While in High School Craig was very active in football, basketball, and wrestling. He played for the Williston Babe Ruth Baseball team winning the state championship in 1970, moving on to the American Legion Keybirds and taking that state title in 1973. Craig was an outstanding catcher, known throughout the region and courted by several professional baseball organizations. The friendships established in Craig’s playing days are still evident today.

On April 26, 1975 Craig was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Dianne Vig. Making their home in Williston Craig and Dianne raised their three wonderful children Alicia, Adrienne, and Avery. In 1991 the family moved to Sidney MT where they still reside today. Craig coached baseball and initiated the Sidney little league baseball Spring Fever camp, donating all proceeds back to the baseball association. Craig was also an active referee for basketball and football and an umpire for several baseball leagues. Craig was a member of the Sidney Baseball Commission. Craig and Dianne were also very active Hockey parents.

Craig was an active outdoors man, spending time hunting, fishing, playing sports, and looking forward to his afternoons with his card buds at J Dubs. But his greatest love was spending time with the joys of his life, his wife, kids, and special grand daughter little S (Sophia). Craig was also looking forward to moving to MN to live by the lake and being close to the kids. A dream they were close to achieving. Craig was a gentle man with a heart of gold. He would give you the shirt off his back, and once you became his friend you were considered family.

Craig has always been known as a hard worker. At the time of Craig’s passing he was employed by Weatherford TRS in Williston as a lay down operator. Earlier you would find Craig helping his father-in-law, Dallas, on the farm. Watching the wheat fields dance is where he found peace. There didn’t seem to be a dull moment, as Craig embraced life. After the loss of his nephew Craig became the biggest promoter of the Zach safety stickers. He just enjoyed helping all who knew him. His big shoulders held many tears, fears, and wonderful memories.

Craig died on Tuesday evening, May 18, 2010, at his home in Sidney.
